EMISSION RATE TESTING OF VOLATILE AND SOME SEMI-VOLATILE COMPOUNDS (VOC/SVOC) WAS CONDUCTED AT A LICENSED COMMERCIAL EMISSION RATES. MEASUREMENTS WERE MADE USING SURFACE ISOLATION FLUX CHAMBER. HYDROCARBON SAMPLES WERE COLLECTED IN EVACUATED STAINLESS STEEL CANISTERS AND ANALYZED OFF-SITE BY GAS CHROMATOGRAPHY AND MASS SPECTROMETRY (GC/MS). THE TESTING PROTOCOL THAT WAS USED FOR THIS PROGRAM HAS BEEN USED IN THE PAST TO ESTABLISH THE CONTROL STRATEGIES TO VOC/SVOC EMISSIONS CONTROL FROM WASTE/HAZARDOUS WASTE MATERIALS. THE TESTING PROTOCOL INCLUDED THE USE OF THE EPA RECOMMENDED SURFACE EMISSION ISOLATION FLUX CHAMBER TECHNOLOGY AND THE EPA METHOD TO-14 CANISTER SAMPLE COLLECTION AND GC/MS ANALYTICAL TECHNIQUE. FLUX CHAMBER, SWEEP AIR, SAMPLE COLLECTION EQUIPMENT, AND FIELD DOCUMENTS WERE LOCATED ON-SITE AND AT THE TEST LOCATION. THE CHAMBER WAS PLACED ON THE TESTING SURFACE (UNCONTROLLED WASTEWATER LAYER). THE THERMOCOUPLES WERE PLACED IN ORDER TO MONITOR AIR TEMPERATURE INSIDE AND OUTSIDE OF THE CHAMBER. THE CHAMBER WAS SUSPENDED FROM A PORTABLE TRIPOD TO PREVENT DISTURBANCE OF THE LAYER. THE SWEEP AIR FLOW RATE WAS INITIATED AND THE ROTAMETER WAS SET AT 5.0 LITERS PER MINUTE. CONSTANT SWEEP AIR FLOW RATE WAS MAINTAINED THROUGHOUT THE MEASUREMENT. THE CHAMBER WAS OPERATED AT 5.0 LITERS PER MINUTE SWEEP AIR FLOW RATE, AND DATA WERE RECORDED EVERY RESIDENCE TIME (6 MINUTES) FOR FIVE RESIDENCE TIMES OR 30 MINUTES. THE SAMPLES CONNECTED TO GC/MS IN LINE AND ANALYZED IN TIME TO OVERCOME TRANSFERRING ERRORS. THESE PROCESS REPEATED TO VALIDATE THE DATA AND REPEATABILITY EVALUATION. RESULTS SHOWED THAT THIS METHOD IS A VERY RELIABLE AND ACCURATE FOR SAMPLING OF VOC/SVOCS FROM OPEN AREA SOURCES.

Development of chemical industry and high vapor pressure of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) have been caused that these materials recently be considered as a source of air pollution. These are different methods for separation of VOC from air that absorption by suitable and selective solvent is an efficient method. In this research, mathematical modeling of a packed absorption tower for separation of VOCs from air has been presented. Then, acetone vapors separation in this tower and with Intalox saddle packing has been investigated. Concentration of acetone in inlet air stream was 1.5 mol % which has reduced to 150 ppm (0.015 mol %) in effluent air stream. The results show that the packed absorption tower with this type of packing can separate 99% of acetone vapors. Comparison of the results obtained by Intalox saddle packing with the results obtained by another type of packing (with trade mark of Kerapak patented by Sulzer Company) shows that the tower gives the same efficiency for acetone separation. Thus, the efficiency of absorption process, mainly, depends on solvent type, composition of VOC in feed air, desired composition of VOC in outlet air (or percentage of VOC separation) and pressure drop.

This article presents the research results on production and performance of palladium-only catalytic converters. Monolith is used as the catalyst carrier and gamma alumina as the substrate. Dipping method is used for monolith washcoating. Palladium as the active metal is impregnated on gamma alumina using wet impregnation to produce catalyst samples. The effects of factors such as percent solids in slurry, milling time, calcination time and temperature, pH and existence of Al(NO3)3 on wash-coat characteristics were studied experimentally. SEM, XRD and BET tests were carried out on the samples. Catalyst performance was tested in an experimental reactor that was designed for this research. The results show that catalytic activity increases as calcination time increases, whereas it declines as calcination temperature increases. Furthermore, as the slurry pH decreases, the catalytic activity also decreases. It was observed that impregnation of Al(NO3)3 does not have any effect on catalytic activity.

چکیده: 

در این تحقیق دیود نور گسیل آلی با قابلیت تنظیم رنگ با استفاده هم زمان از دو ماده رنگزای آلی به عنوان میهمان ساخته شد. ساختار قطعه ساخته شده ITO /PEDOT: PSS /PVK /C6: TPP: Alq3(x nm) /BCP/ Al میباشد. ابتدا دیود نورگسیل آلی مسدود کننده حفره ساخته شد. اثر ضخامت های مختلف لایه نورگسیل بر مشخصات الکتریکی، مختصات رنگی و نوری دیودهای ساخته شده مورد ارزیابی قرار گرفت. دیود سبز در ضخامت 10 نانومتر ساخته شد. با تغییر دادن ضخامت، دیود نارنجی به دست آمد. مشخص شد که با کاهش ضخامت علاوه بر بازترکیب مستقیم، بازترکیب غیرمستقیم هم اثر قابل توجهی بر رنگ دیود ایجاد می کند. با این کار دیود تنظیم پذیر رنگ با کنترل ضخامت ساخته شد. برای قطعه 2 بیشترین روشنایی در ولتاژ 12 ولت حاصل شد. در نهایت نتایج تجربی با نتایج شبیه سازی شده مقایسه شد.
